New Patient: £275
Follow-up: £175
NB: Private hospitals can issue a separate charge for outpatient procedures for drugs, dressings, etc.
Fees for surgical procedures are based on a coding system used by all the insurers. (OPCS Code) Most insurers meet my fees in full. Sometimes there are cost share type policies or an excess depending on the type of individual insurance policy. Patients will be informed of the fee for any surgical procedure in writing prior to their operation.
Most invoices are settled directly by the insurance company. If there is a shortfall or excess this can be paid most easily by BACS transfer (details will be on the invoice) or cheque (payable to Alex Torrie).
People often struggle to know how to use the health insurance they have paid for. Often people have paid for 20 years through personal and work schemes and have never made a claim.
This page highlights a few simple steps as to how you can use your insurance at the GHC.
